Chapter 6 Another Invitation
Chapter 6 Another Invitation
Li Hao glanced at the two men, said nothing, and gently shook the axe handle with his right hand.
"Brother, you should have heard of my older brother, right?"
My older brother's name is Zhao Meng, and he's a tough guy. From now on, this whole neighborhood will be under his management.
"Now that you've joined, you're considered a veteran."
The younger brother brandished his machete and said to Li Hao.
"Will this neighborhood be under your management from now on?" Li Hao glanced at their faces, his gaze lingering on the wolf's head on Zhao Meng's arm.
"Of course," the younger brother said smugly.
Li Hao naturally didn't believe it.
Of the four groups, he felt that the guy who looked like a triad boss was the least likely to gain control of the neighborhood.
He hesitated for a moment, then said, "Let me think about it."
He turned around and picked up a bag of cement.
Seeing Li Hao's actions, the blond-haired henchman turned to look at Zhao Meng.
Zhao Meng shook his head.
After Li Hao carried the cement out, the underling finally spoke up and asked,
"Brother, why are you being so polite to him?"
Zhao Meng glanced at the cement and bricks in the room and said, "You don't understand. He hasn't joined any group yet, but he might become our brother in the future."
Of course, you should be polite to your brothers.
He patted the blond-haired guy on the shoulder, "You and the other brothers should be careful these next few days, be friendly to the other residents, they might all join us."
"Okay, big brother." The blond-haired man nodded thoughtfully.
the other side.
Inside the stairwell, Li Hao carried cement, step by step.
Although he walked slowly, he remained very steady.
Carry the cement up to the 9th floor.
Open the door and place the cement on the balcony.
He twisted his neck, somewhat surprised. "How come you carried 100 pounds of cement up here so easily this time?"
He wasn't even red-faced or out of breath.
Without thinking much of it, he drank a few sips of water.
Then he took two more bags and went downstairs.
The two men were no longer in the unfinished house.
"Not the best."
He went to the pile of bricks, stacked the two bags together, and then neatly put the bricks into the bags one by one.
When the bag was full, I lifted it and thought, "The weight is acceptable."
I estimate that one bag won't be enough to build a clay stove; at least two bags will be needed.
With the bag on his back, he climbed up to the 9th floor again and neatly stacked the bricks in the corner of the balcony.
This was repeated several times.
Cement, bricks, sand—everything was readily available.
"There's not enough water."
He took a sip of water and wiped away his sweat.
He hesitated for a moment, then picked up the axe and two buckets and went downstairs again.
After going down a few floors, I suddenly heard a man coughing and banging on a resident's door.
"Brother Chen, Brother Chen, are you inside?"
"My wife and I are both sick. Do you have any medicine here?"
No one answered from inside.
Li Hao listened for a moment, then stopped paying attention and continued downstairs.
When I arrived at the community's water pool, I saw a man also carrying water.
Li Hao recognized the man; it was Wang Hao, the captain who had invited him to join the rescue team last time.
"Hey, are you from that rooftop up there this morning?"
Wang Hao greeted them with a smile.
He looked somewhat surprised.
"That person is you."
Li Hao was stunned for a moment. Because of the distance, he couldn't see the other person's face clearly, but he didn't expect the other person to see him clearly.
Her eyesight is quite good.
"Yes, you've come to fetch water too."
"Um."
"My name is Wang Hao, captain of the Dawn Rescue Team. As you know, our community needs to be united, and I'd like to invite you to join us."
A smile appeared on Li Hao's lips as he placed the bucket in the water and said with a laugh, "You and that Zhang Hui already came to my doorstep last time."
"Oh, which company are you from?" Wang Hao asked.
He invited too many residents, and some of them he never even met.
He hadn't seen Li Hao when Li Hao closed the door last time.
"Building 10, Unit 905. It's just me and my brother at home." He carried one bucket of water and put another bucket down.
"Oh, it's you guys! I remember you, I remember you." Wang Hao picked up the water bottle, his eyes slightly brightening.
"You two brothers brought back two big bags of kiwis the other day. When others told me about it, I was very impressed."
Especially since you were carrying fire axes.
To be honest, capable young people like you are exactly what we need.
Wang Hao looked enthusiastic and expectant.
"How about it? Join our Dawn Team!"
Li Hao shook the bucket until it was full, then lifted it up. "My brother still has the flu. I'll discuss it with him and we'll talk about it in a couple of days."
"Look at me, I forgot. Here you go." Wang Hao took out two packets of cold medicine, two fever reducers, and two anti-inflammatory pills from his pocket and handed them to Li Hao.
Li Hao looked at the medicine with a somewhat surprised expression.
Medicine is a precious resource now; every little bit used is a finite amount. I never expected the other party to give it to me so easily.
"This is cold medicine, this is fever reducer, and this is anti-inflammatory medicine. I think your brother should be able to use these now, and even if he doesn't need them now, you will be able to use them later."
Li Hao glanced at him but didn't take it.
He knew perfectly well that the other party was giving him the medicine as a ploy to appeal to his emotions and get him and Li Wen involved.
If you accept it, it means you owe the other party a favor.
Debts of gratitude are the hardest to repay.
He was also somewhat surprised, not expecting that Wang Hao would take out medicine without hesitation after hearing that Li Wen was sick.
He has some guts.
Seeing that Li Hao didn't take it, Wang Hao extended his outstretched hand forward.
"Take it, I'm not forcing you to join."
He pointed around and said, "It's just the two of us, which means we're destined to be together."
Li Hao glanced around; there was indeed no one around.
Obviously, there aren't many people who are currently healthy or have recovered from their illness.
"No need, thank you, I have some." Li Hao shook his head and still didn't take it.
He understood the saying, "He who takes a man's money is bound to him; he who eats another man's food is bound to him."
He changed the subject and casually asked, "Could you tell me how you would manage the community if I joined?"
Wang Hao silently put the medicine into his pocket, thinking that Li Hao was not a greedy person, which made him even more eager to recruit Li Hao.
He pointed to the pavilion next to him, "Let's go sit over there and chat. I'm sure you'll join our Dawn team after we talk."
As he spoke, Wang Hao walked over.
Dawn Team.
Li Hao repeated the name to himself.
Dawn means bringing hope.
He followed them.
