Healthy members will regurgitate semi-digested meat for the weak and sick, and babysitters receive the same treatment. Generally, African wild dog packs are peaceful, but female leaders sometimes engage in battles with their females over breeding rights.
African wild dogs have 42 teeth, and their premolars are relatively large compared to other canids, allowing them to grind up a lot of bone, which is somewhat similar to hyenas.
African wild dogs hunt cooperatively, led by a male alpha, roaming within their territory. They can prey up to twice their own weight, including antelope, wildebeest, and zebra.
