Chapter 55 Dawn, Torrential Rain
Chapter 55 Dawn, Torrential Rain
The Force reappears.
This is Carl's Force talent, which allows him to replay past scenes, sounds, and emotions by touching a corresponding medium.
The stronger the primal force contained in the medium, or the more extreme the attached emotions, the clearer the reflected image will be.
As a trade-off, when reading the horrific and painful replays, users simultaneously experience the fear, pain, and despair of that moment, making them highly susceptible to being consumed by dark emotions.
His master, Master Tapal, often reminded him to use his talents with caution.
Now that his life is threatened, the powerful talent of Force Resurgence has become his lifeline.
Through the echo, Karl saw two inconspicuous figures who had quietly left traces of the Force in this place.
The image was blurry, and their faces were unclear, but it was absolutely certain that they were Jedi.
At that moment, a ray of dawn rose in Karl's heart, piercing the darkness and enveloping him.
The image vanished in an instant, but he clearly saw the direction the two had left in.
Karl suppressed his excitement, kept his head down, and continued moving forward in the direction he was heading.
We arrived at the second location.
He saw another blurry image.
Keep going.
The third place.
Fourth.
Until... he arrived at a secluded, deserted corner.
In the Force's echo, a man makes a few marks on a metal plate before burying himself in a pile of metal nearby.
The image disappeared.
Carl quickly crouched down and began rummaging through the pile of metal.
He quickly found the metal plate and saw the writing on it: 25 kilometers southeast, three days.
"Does that mean they'll wait for me there for three days?" he thought to himself.
Carl scraped off the writing and reburied it in the pile of metal.
With hope in his heart, he felt much better both mentally and physically.
"Let's go now!"
He quietly left the corner and headed out of the city.
"Should we say goodbye?"
Carl recalled the kind old man who had saved him, and realized that if he left without saying goodbye, the man might worry.
But what if we go back to say goodbye and are discovered by the enemy on the way?
Besides, he wasn't familiar with that man, so why would he risk going back just to say goodbye?
Karl was deeply conflicted.
His master warned him not to trust anyone, but he was ultimately just an apprentice who had grown up in the ivory tower of the Jedi Order.
After much internal struggle, he finally couldn't get over it and decided to leave a farewell letter.
Karl's direction of travel changed slightly.
Nearly an hour later, he returned to the simple, cramped house.
He left a hurried message, glanced back one last time, and set off again.
Boom!
The gray sky was filled with churning dark clouds, lightning flashed through the clouds, and a light drizzle fell.
The heavy rain suddenly turned into a downpour, lashing against him relentlessly, but it couldn't extinguish his burning passion.
Karl pulled his hood down, lowering his head even further, but his pace quickened without the slightest hesitation.
He had only recently become a Jedi apprentice and lacked sufficient Force skills and experience.
Several times, he almost got caught by the patrol team.
Fortunately, he was small, and the heavy rain and mist blurred his vision, so he narrowly escaped.
Through years of Jedi training and the nourishment of the Force, his physical strength and reaction speed surpass those of ordinary people.
With trepidation, they walked to the edge of the city, determined their direction, and braved the torrential rain to plunge into the wilderness littered with starship wreckage.
......
canyon.
A massive, abandoned starship had a crack beneath it, and Lance's shuttle was hidden inside.
Most of the spacecraft's equipment was shut down, with only a few of the most critical basic systems remaining operational.
This is to avoid being detected by the Scavengers' Guild's radar.
Lance sat bored in the driver's seat, staring at the world outside where the rain was pouring down.
Even inside the spaceship, he still felt a chill.
Lance frowned.
In this situation, it's uncertain whether the Jedi will be able to detect the traces of the Force they left behind.
"What are you thinking about?"
A crisp sound rang in his ears, and Ahsoka walked to his side and handed him a hot drink.
Lance smiled and accepted it: "Thank you. It's nothing, I was just a little worried."
Ahsoka picked up his cup and took a small sip: "Don't worry, the Force will take care of it."
"How come you're more open-minded than me?"
"Haha, can't you tell? I'm just trying to comfort you." Ahsoka winked mischievously.
"Okay... thank you very much, I feel much better now."
Lance raised his glass in thanks and took a sip.
A warm sensation flowed down his esophagus to his stomach, and he immediately felt warm all over.
It's pouring rain outside, so a hot drink would be perfect.
It was incredibly pleasant.
If he weren't on a mission, he would love to lie down and relax completely in this situation.
"How does it taste?"
"This is simply the best drink in the galaxy! How did you make it?"
"It comes from Shili, the ingredients are simple, and almost every household knows how to make it."
"Healy? What kind of planet is that?"
A hint of confusion flashed in Ahsoka's eyes, and his voice, tinged with reminiscence, slowly said:
"That's my home planet. Located in the central star system, it's a beautiful planet with vast forests and grasslands, and the vegetation is colorful and lush."
Lance keenly sensed the longing in her words: "It must be a beautiful planet. Perhaps we'll have a chance to go back and see it again."
Ahsoka was slightly taken aback.
More than a decade has passed since she was brought to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant when she was three years old.
I wonder how my parents are doing now, whether they are still living peacefully in that small village?
If she really had to go back to visit her relatives, she felt a little uneasy and anxious.
"Or... let's just forget about it."
Lance suddenly grasped her small hand: "I can go with you."
A blush crept across Ahsoka's face. She struggled slightly for a moment, then gave up resisting.
"Drip..."
R2 shook itself silently, as if it smelled a sour stench, and couldn't help but let out a few low mutterings.
It extended two mechanical arms and stared at them blankly.
The two chatted for a while longer, then Lance leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes to rest.
......
Meanwhile, Karl, covered in mud and rust, clutched an injured arm as he struggled through the starship wreckage.
The metal plate was extremely slippery after the rain, and he lost his footing and fell from a height, breaking his arm.
Fortunately, in the critical moment, he used the Force to offset some of the impact, otherwise he would have lost more than just one arm.
But this setback could not break him.
After his master died, he gradually learned to be strong.
This is probably the price of growing up.
Carl gritted his teeth, dragging his weary body, his eyes fixed on the front.
"Only ten kilometers left."
He kept encouraging himself.
A voice in my head was telling me to give up.
But he paid no heed, his eyes remained resolute, and the dawn in his heart grew ever brighter.
The last five kilometers.
The last three kilometers.
......
The last 500 meters.
