Chapter 2228-2226 A Man is Hidden in My Sister's Eyes

Chapter 2228, Section 2.226: A Man Remains in My Sister's Eyes

Referring to the original storyline, the beautiful court ladies Ayaji and Mino, known for their beauty in the inner palace, were thrown out of the palace by Princess Kiku's orders when they suffered unbearable cravings for opium, and ultimately drowned on the banks of the Hamamachi River. Therefore, Tokiwahashi-hime, whom you encounter at this moment, is very likely one of them, or perhaps both of them.

Princess Kikuhime, in collusion with the wealthy merchant Bizenya Tokuemon and the Ōoku physician Muroya Jundō, secretly smuggled opium into the Ōoku (inner palace). The reason for this was the unbearable misery of the women within the Ōoku. As women serving the Shogun, they were often materially well-off but mentally tormented. Unable to find solace in their anxieties, and possessing considerable wealth, they resorted to opium addiction to numb themselves. Princess Kikuhime, her beauty ruined, also habitually used highly addictive opium to poison women more beautiful than herself within the Ōoku, watching them squander their wealth and die in agony, deriving an indescribable sense of vengeful pleasure. As for the Ōoku physician, it was he who prescribed opium-laced remedies to the melancholy women within the Ōoku. Thus, the three conspired, each getting what they wanted.

As a result, the swordsman protagonist saw through their scheme, and a fierce battle ensued on the smuggling merchant ship, where they were all wiped out. Although Princess Kiku managed to escape, she ultimately could not escape death. In the seventh installment, "The Sentimental Sword," her secret was exposed, and she was forced to commit suicide.

Princess Kikuhime makes an early appearance at the Noh Maker's Dance House, transforming into Maeda Chisa's birth mother, "Hyakukouin," who is wrapped up like a dumpling by the Universe Ring, but ultimately finds salvation through misfortune.

In fact, Wu Chen wanted to emulate the Toba War Princess support team in his one-life playthrough by finding an opportunity to unify and adapt the female characters he captured along the way who had their distorted and divergent traits removed, and to make them compatible with the "Goddess Device: Mecha Girl".

The team name hasn't been decided yet; for now, it's called Toba Team Two. But Wu Chen hasn't made a final decision. He feels he hasn't fully grasped the unfolding plot. Therefore, he wants to keep enough manpower to be ready to deal with any (distorted) disagreements arising from plot conflicts.

Before long, two elusive, ghostly figures began to flit around the group, accompanied by sinister laughter that seemed to come from near and far.

"Giggle..."

"As expected, it is the drowned Ayaji Minakata and Mino Mikazuki from Hamamachi." Wu Chen immediately confirmed Tokiwahashi-hime's identity.

"Who goes there?" Two female demons blocked the crowd from the front and back.

"Katagiri Yuko, the courtesan of Gobancho." Captain Yuko of Gobancho introduced herself without hesitation.

"Where is Gobancho?" The two female demons did not doubt Captain Yuuko's words at all, but they also had their own questions.

"It's inside Ushigome-Mikado." Captain Yuko, the courtesan of Gobancho, showed no fear whatsoever.

Ushigome Gate was one of the important gates on the northwest side of Edo Castle, mainly connecting the castle grounds with the Ushigome area to the west. It was located near the border of present-day Shinjuku and Chiyoda wards in Tokyo. During the Edo period, it was a vital passage for samurai and officials entering and leaving the castle, as well as for the transport of supplies. The Ushigome area was also home to many hatamoto (retainers directly under the shogun) and domain samurai.

"Ah..." A ghostly figure flashed, and Minaka Ayaji approached: "Which okiya?"

"Yugiri-ro." Captain Yuko, the courtesan of Gobancho, was telling the truth.

“Katagiri Yuuko, the courtesan of Yugiri-ro in Ushigome-Michimon-nai Gobancho.” Minaka Ayaji repeated softly, then smiled slightly: “Then, Yuuko-neechan, please make yourself at home.”

"What are the conditions?" Captain Yuko, the courtesan of Gobancho, dared not let her guard down for a moment.

"Gouge out their eyes." Yu Zhongling's smile was sinister and terrifying.

"Why?" Captain Yuko, the courtesan of Gobancho, asked, puzzled.

“There’s a man hidden in my sister’s eyes,” Mino Mikazuki answered from behind. “Ah…” They had clearly noticed Wu Chen behind the Ω screen, and Captain Yuuko, the courtesan of Gobancho, readily admitted, “That’s our man.”

"You?" The two female demons' expressions said it all: "Everyone?"

“Yes, everyone.” Captain Yuko, the courtesan of Gobancho, spoke with an air of self-righteous indignation, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

"..." Putting herself in their shoes, the two female demons, who were also women in the inner palace belonging solely to the shogun, still asked the question that had been hidden in their hearts: "Can he satisfy all of you?"

"All time and space, the whole world, all states, all collapse." Every word of Captain Yuko, the courtesan of Gobancho, was like a heavy hammer, shattering the banshee's defenses.

"Lies, all lies!" The hot-blooded young Mikasa Miyako, her demonic aura soaring, went berserk first.

A ghostly figure flashed, and a blade flashed horizontally.

This strike, born of extreme hatred, seemed to cleave the sky in two.

The ever-silent Nine-Tailed Demon Queen, Su Daji, emerged proudly amidst a jet-black mosaic of diamond-like light. The "Goddess Device Imperial Priest Susanoo Modified Nine-Tailed Demon Mecha," identical to the courtesan Yuko of the Fifth District, drew their nine-meter-long steel ronin-style sword, the "Ama-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi," without any prior agreement!

The two worked seamlessly together, unleashing a cross-shaped slash that blocked Miyako's demonic sword strike.

A loud bang, and fire broke out.

Tokiwahashi Himeko was knocked away from a distance and tumbled to the ground.

The weapon in her hand was immediately displayed in a pop-up window by the "Super Brain Area Chain": Tarobo Kenmitsu.

"Tarobo Kenko" is one of the famous swords of Japan's Sengoku period. Legend has it that it was forged by Osafune Kenko (also known as Enbun Kenko), a swordsmith from the Bizen Osafune school.

This sword was originally bestowed upon Akechi Mitsuhide by Oda Nobunaga, hence its other name, "Akechi Kanemitsu." Akechi Mitsuhide placed it as a tribute sword on Mount Atago in Kyoto. Because Mount Atago enshrines "Tarobo Gongen" (Tarobo Tengu), it ultimately became known as "Tarobo Kanemitsu." Legend has it that Toyotomi Hideyoshi secretly replaced the sword at Mount Atago through some kind of trickery. After passing through several hands, it eventually fell into the possession of Tokugawa Ieyasu, but its subsequent whereabouts became unknown, becoming a legendary sword. The sword may have originally been a tachi or katana, but historically it underwent "sharpening" (shortening the hilt to adapt to a new grip or damaging parts), ultimately becoming a 50cm blade-length Ōwakizashi.

At the same time, Mikazuki Ayaji also drew her signature weapon: Aoi-mon Echizen Yasutsugu.

The "Aoi-mon Echizen Yasutsugu" is a wakizashi (sword-forging sword) with a blade length of 35.3 cm. It was made by Echizen Yasutsugu, the official swordsmith of the renowned Edo-period swordsmith Tokugawa Ieyasu, and is enshrined at Atsuta Shrine in Owari Province as a "sacred sword" (a type of ritual sword offered at shrines). The sword is decorated with plum blossom and bamboo patterns on its sides. It is said to be named "Aoi-mon Echizen Yasutsugu" because it was given the name of the Tokugawa family's Aoi (a type of crest) by Ieyasu, and thus the inscription was changed accordingly.

As expected of a woman from the inner palace.

Everyone was equipped with a famous sword from the Warring States period. It's unclear whether they were secretly misappropriated or were given to them by the shogun.

But regardless of the actual situation, it seems that the approach of "matching a famous sword with a famous product" is the right one.

Simply put, the important actresses who were teleported into the arena by Zishan Linghu all carried a famous sword from the Warring States period.
