Chapter 2229-2227 The Eye of Life
Chapter 2229 2.227 The Eye of Three Lives
Tokiwahashi-hime, along with Ayaji Minakata and Mino Hanashita, wield famous swords, their demonic aura soaring to the heavens.
Despite being outnumbered, the two women, with their ghostly figures, managed to surround the Exorcist Squad on the bridge. Moreover, the two women were actually demonized corpses that had drowned, not just mindless wandering ghosts. Fearing that damaging their physical bodies would be unsightly, Captain Yuko, the courtesan of the Fifth District, and three of the Four Consorts of the Mixed Origin, were hesitant to launch a full-scale attack.
Especially the Killing Waltz, the ultimate weapon of the Four Consorts of Hunyuan, can kill without leaving a trace once it is laid. Although the shredded corpses can be resurrected with the Regeneration Cocoon, it is certainly not as convenient as a whole body.
"Leave it to me." The Nine-Tailed Demon Queen Su Daji made a decisive move, unleashing her trump card: "A feather in the weak water will sink, it will not float; a beautiful woman is a source of trouble, she will never be redeemed—the Eye of Three Lives!"
The Three Lives: past life, present life, and future life.
As the ancestor of fox demons, the Nine-Tailed Demon Queen Su Daji's seductive arts were invincible and irresistible. Ordinary people were captivated at first sight.
Moreover, it is indiscriminate in its appeal to both men and women, young and old, and there is no escape for anyone.
Nine shadowy tails, like serpents dancing wildly or peacocks spreading their tails, stretched out behind Su Daji's nine-tailed demon body. At the end of each shadowy tail, the Three Lives Eye, resembling a peacock feather "eye spot," suddenly opened.
In an instant, her alluring gaze was like silk, obscuring the sun and sky.
Tokiwahashi-hime, Mikazuki Ayashiro, and Mikazuki Mino instantly fell for her. Like butterflies caught in their own cocoons, they were wrapped layer by layer in a web of seductive eyes, firmly entangled in place.
In a spin-off storyline of *Investiture of the Gods*, the "Three Demons of Xuanyuan Tomb" (a nine-tailed fox spirit, a nine-headed pheasant spirit, and a jade pipa spirit) were captured alive by Nuwa and handed over to Jiang Ziya for execution, thus preventing them from being granted divine titles. Because the three demons were alluringly beautiful, the executioner couldn't bear to destroy them, so Jiang Ziya used the "Immortal-Slaying Flying Knife," a magical weapon taught to him by the Daoist Lu Ya. With a swirling white light, the heads of the nine-tailed fox spirit, the nine-headed pheasant spirit, and the jade pipa spirit fell to the ground one after another, their souls returning to the Investiture of the Gods platform.
The alluring eyes were formed from the remnants of the demon-binding rope that Nuwa used to capture the nine-tailed fox spirit, a resentment that remained, entangled in a life-and-death struggle between spiritual energy and her own demonic energy, from which she could never be freed. The nine-tailed demon queen, Su Daji, benefited from this misfortune, forging the Eyes of Three Lives.
Her alluring eyes concealed a binding rope. As the saying goes, "everything has its counter," how could Tokiwahashi-hime, a Japanese female demon, possibly escape?
"Huh?" As the black and red evil energy within Tokiwahashi-hime, Minakata Ayashiro, and Mikazuki Mino was continuously devoured by the Demon-Binding Rope, a demonic shadow suddenly flashed within the inescapable net woven by the alluring eyes. Although the demonic shadow vanished in an instant, it was still captured by Wu Chen's True Sight Eye, which vanished in a flash.
"I see……"
"My lord?" Because the Nine-Tailed Demon Queen Su Daji was a parasitic demon, Captain Yuko, the courtesan of Gobancho, who was the host, also sensed a strange aura.
"'The Eye of Three Lives' refers to the past life, present life, and future life. 'Spinning a cocoon to bind oneself' is only for 'transforming from a cocoon into a butterfly.'" As usual, Wu Chen did not spoil the plot in advance: "The Demon-Binding Rope can not only entangle the demon's original form but also bind the demon's true body. By peeling back the layers, we will surely gain something."
“My lord, the Demon-Binding Rope may hold a hidden secret within its myriad threads,” the courtesan Yuko’s troupe from Gobancho immediately realized. “Exactly,” Wu Chen said with a smile.
The dying Ayaji Miyako and Minori Miyako were brought into the rebirth cocoon, along with the captain of the Gobancho courtesan Yuko and the four consorts of the Mixed Origin: the eldest consort Xing Xiaolu, the second consort Qin Hong, and the fourth consort Xu Jingshan, and walked to the center of Tokiwa Bridge to look down at the Bizenya Karabusa, which was submerged in the vast fog.
According to the original storyline, the wealthy merchant Tokuemon of Bizenya, the physician of the inner palace, Muroya Jundo, and his cronies were all killed by the swordsman protagonist on this smuggling ship. The mysterious shrine maiden Aoga, the young girl Suzume, the bird-chasing girl Asen, the fake saint Hira Mashima, the venerable Fujio Minaka, and the Hakone bride Akemi were also undoubtedly transported to the ship by the disordered teleportation of Shizane Reiko.
What kind of powerful monsters will be born from the bloody killing field and the lingering resentment? This can be seen from Tokiwahashi-hime, who ranks high among the 108 demons in the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons.
"Let's go." The courtesan Yuko's party in Gobancho leaped off the ship. Since only this ship could take them to the other side, there was no point in hesitating.
The eldest of the four consorts, Xing Xiaolu, the second consort, Qin Hong, and the fourth consort, Xu Jingshan, followed closely behind and jumped onto the deck.
"Hehehe..." The moment they landed, a sinister laugh reached their ears from the lower deck. Immediately afterward, a colorful snake tail emerged from the misty waters, wrapping around the Bizenya Karabusa ship again and again.
The pop-up immediately locked onto the target: the wet woman.
"Nurarihyon," also known as "Iso-onna," "Umi-onna," or "Umi-hime," is a female demon transformed from the spirit of a woman who drowned at sea. She has a human face and a snake's body, with long, wet hair, and often appears on coastal rocks. The Nurarihyon's lower body is a snake's tail, reaching 330 meters in length. She often lures people close by by combing her hair, then reveals sharp teeth and a forked tongue, using her snake tail to coil around and suck blood while mocking her victims: "What a pity! What a pity!" Kagoshima fishermen believe that looking directly at her will cause them to fall ill and die, and they will never go to sea on certain days. Legend says she often collaborates with the Ushi-oni (gyu-oni, a type of demon) to lure and kill humans, with the Ushi-oni carrying out the fatal attack. This forms the Edo version of "Ushi-oni and Suga-shin" (demons and monsters). Other accounts record that she can transform into a woman carrying a child, using the child to increase her weight and trap her target. Toriyama Sekien's "Illustrated Night Parade of One Hundred Demons" depicts her with a long tongue protruding and a snake's body coiled around a tree.
The 330-meter-long tail could indeed wrap around the Bizenya Karabusa many times.
As more and more black and red demonic light shone on the scales on the long tail, the corpses of the wealthy merchant Bizenya Tokuemon, who had been crushed to death by the falling sail, and the physician Muroya Jundo of the Ooku, along with the corpses of his henchmen lying on the deck, began to twitch eerily.
The distortion occurred quickly. These male characters all transformed into the legendary Ushioni, who collaborated with the Wet Woman to lure and kill humans.
"Ushioni" is a sea monster in Japanese mythology, originating from Toriyama Sekien's "Gazu Hyakki Yagyō" (Illustrated Night Parade of One Hundred Demons). It is depicted as a combination of a bull's head and a giant spider or crab's body, active along the western coast of Japan, particularly in Shimane Prefecture. It can spray venom to pollute water sources and stares with its "fierce eyes," causing people to die from exhaustion. Therefore, in many places, people worship Ushioni as a deity and hold regular "Ushioni Festivals." Besides its terrifying appearance, venom, and fierce eyes, in the legends of the Kumano region, Ushioni possesses a terrifying weapon—the "demon eye." Legend says that anyone looked at by Ushioni will suffer a terrible disease, hallucinate, and eventually die bleeding from all seven orifices; this is known as the "Ushioni curse." In Kagawa Prefecture, there is another legend about an archer named Yamada Kuranosuke, who, during the Tensho era, fasted and was guided by Kannon (the Bodhisattva of Compassion) to kill Ushioni. To prevent the Ushioni's vengeful spirit from haunting him, Kuranosuke cut off Ushioni's horn and offered it before the Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Kannon statue at Neko-ji Temple.
As they spoke, the bull-headed giant spider swelled up into a mountain of flesh as if it had been inflated.
Wu Chen used his fleeting True Sight Eye to confirm with absolute certainty that everyone present was a male demon and there was not a single female demon. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
What are you waiting for?
The eldest of the four consorts, Xing Xiaolu, the second consort, Qin Hong, and the fourth consort, Xu Jingshan, joined forces to compose a waltz of slaughter!
